From the application you should go to the Help Menu and go for the Illustrator help and do a find.
But in the meant time you can select the path either go to the brush panel and select a different brush or appearance panel highlight the stroke for that path and click on the brush name which will open the brush panel directly from the appearance panel and select a different brush.
OK, there might be an easier way of doing this but if you wish to just have a stroke but no brush assigned to it give the path a fill of none then give it a fill of the color you had and the stroke width you desire. Now the brush is gone and you have a simple stroke.
I did look under the help dropdown to no avail.
the issue is that the brush has some variances, so making it a simple stroke doesn't work.
i don't want a different brush, it must be this brush, but I just want it as a shape (editable at the edges)
I am on CS 3 but Ai always has it.
Select the stroke with brush style that you need to turn into a shape.
Go on top of your menu bar find OBJECT menu. Then at drop down menu:
Object> Expand Appearance
On of them should be selectable. Now you can make your brush style into shape and manipulate after.
Hope this helps.
Yes! success!! thanks so much! I KNEW it had to be simple.
