Per the program's instructions, make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime from Apple.com.
OK. So I have the latest version of Quicktime installed. Now what? What does Quicktime have to do with generating thumbnails anyway?
Quicktime enables the function of all personal computer based video editing.
Good luck with your issue.
Thanks. So what do we try now to get the thumbnails generated?
I just spent over 1 hour with Adobe support. Their solution is to rename all of my video files from .mts to .m2ts. This is outrageous! So I am not going to be using Premier Elements. Problem not solved.
Glad to hear you were able to find a solution, miplihcik.
Thanks for your help. I don't consider this conclusion a solution. I am now
stuck about what software to use for my video editing. The Pixela software
that came with my Canon camcorder is a toy. I have used Premiere Pro with my
DV camcorder but am hesitant to spend $300 for an upgrade. Maybe I will have
to bite the bullet.
Not an ideal recommendation from Adobe, but you wouldn't need to rename them individually. There are plenty of freeware utilities that will batch rename.

Along the lines of Neale's comment, I have used a program, NaMo, and also SuperExplorer, to do batch Renaming. Now, I use ThumbsPlus, as I find it much easier. ThumbsPlus is a great media browser, IMHO, and it's Renaming process one of the easiest for batch Renaming.
