It is most likely either an internet issue or a server issue. I doubt it has anything to do with Reader or Firefox specifically. It could be a firefox issue, if you had some extension causing interference. What version of Firefox? What version of Reader? Do you have any extensions installed? I assume you have verified it works on the same computer using MSIE. If so, what version of MSIE are you using? What OS on the computer having difficulties? What virus protection? What spyware protection are you using?
It's an issue that's being reported by many of our users. Currently it's been confirmed on XP through Win7 and Reader 7 and 9. The kicker is that it's only a problem with Adobe Reader displaying the pdf in-browser.
If using Adobe Reader but not viewing in-browser it works.
If using another pdf reader (PDF Xchange Viewer, etc.) to view in-browser it works.
I confirmed the issue testing on fresh Win7 VM with current versions of Firefox and Reader (so no Firefox extensions, Virus protection, etc.) using the pdf link in my first post (among others).
Can I at least get Adobe Reader to produce some verbose logging to help troubleshoot the issue?
Why don't you switch to Chrome?
you can try other browser like opera or internet explorer
I'm the site admin for an association with more than a million members. We have people complaining about this issue constantly and the only advice our call center can give them right now is to unistall Adobe Reader and install PDF Xchange Viewer.
I know I can change browsers or reader software but I'm looking to actually fix the problem.
Is there a way to get Adobe Reader to produce a verbose logfile or determine root cause of this error?
We are experiencing the same issue with pdf files and Firefox. With other browsers, everything is ok, but we can not tell our clients to change their browsers.
Did you find anything that help your situation?
I found an answer to this problem. If the server is IIS then it may require a hotfix.
We were experiencing the same problem and after I applied the hotfix PDF's loaded in FF.
