1. Re: Mac desktop, PC laptop - can I use the same CS5 license on both?
MichaelKazlow Jun 18, 2010 8:40 AM (in response to DPCOLE)If you need to work on both Platforms you need two licenses. One way to get around the problem is to get the Windows version and run it under Boot Camp, Parallels, Fusion or similar virtual PC-type program. Be aware you can only run the suite on one computer at a time. You cannot simultaneously run the programs on a desktop and a laptop at the same time.

DPCOLE Jun 18, 2010 9:35 AM (in response to MichaelKazlow)Thx for the licensing info.
I'm still debating "mac vs pc", but given current 'political' tussles, how many arguments aimed at Flash can be correctly be rebutted against, and Flash being more stable with Windows in the first place (not to mention faster), I think I will migrate back to Windows via bootcamp. I only need the Mac for Logic Studio at this point anyhow... OS X might be better, but I need the Adobe apps the most and thanks to the current spat between Apple and Adobe, never mind other issues, I can fathom a lot of things. I'm better off going back to Windows. But Adobe isn't to blame for that.

3. Re: Mac desktop, PC laptop - can I use the same CS5 license on both?
BobLevine Jun 18, 2010 1:22 PM (in response to DPCOLE)FWIW, I have the same set up. Windows desktop and a Mac laptop.
While I have both Mac and Windows versions, I use the Windows version more and have Windows 7 installed under boot camp on the Mac.
Works great though the track pad is a bit temperamental on Windows.

4. Re: Mac desktop, PC laptop - can I use the same CS5 license on both?
orecchs Jul 6, 2010 1:15 PM (in response to DPCOLE)I have am currently running Premier Pro CS4 for windows. My current system is underpowered for HD video editing.
Can I use my current license and install on a Mac via Boot Camp?
If so, is there any instability via this setup?
OR, do I need to purchase a new MAC based license copy?
I need to get a new video editing suite ASAP and I'm in the familiar MAC vs. PC scenario. I really do NOT want to acquaint myself with learning my way around a MAC...
Thoughts?
thank you.

5. Re: Mac desktop, PC laptop - can I use the same CS5 license on both?
BobLevine Jul 6, 2010 1:34 PM (in response to orecchs)If you install Windows on the Mac via Boot Camp you should have no problems at all installing and running any of the CS4 apps.
Make sure to deactivate on your machine first.
