    .PSD export to .DWG

    auctioneer Community Member

I just received a phone call from a client who would like all my .psd images from their catalog coverted to .dwg.  I can't imagine why, but nevertheless I need to know whether it can be done and how.

      Thanks..

Difficult, if not impossible. DWG is the native format for AutoCAD, a 2-D and 3-D vector design and drafting application. You would need to turn you raster Photoshop art into vectors, then export the DWG.

If you can trace or use LiveTrace in Illustrator to make a convincing vector version of your artwork, then you can export that to DWG. I have never had to trust Illustrator’s DWG export features, but I assume they are barely adequate for your needs.

If you post your image here you can get feedback about how you can export it, or it this is even possible. Use Save for Web t make a JPG or PNG then use the camera icon to attach it to a new reply.

Also tell us more about the project. What will be done with it? Why does your client need (or thing they need) a DWG?
