    Mercury Crashing Media Encoder

    Chuck A. McIntyre Level 3

We are currently on show site in Miami FL working on videos for a staging event that starts Tuesday. We are editing four standard def videos side by side as they will appear on four side by side projection screens.  The project is in a Desktop sequence, 2560 x 540 (rectangular pixels 1.5 pixel aspect ratio).  The video's sequence is nested twice in a DVCPRO HD 1080i sequence with the media moved in order to divide the 1080i video into four widescreen standard def videos that a Vista Spyder will send to the appropriate screens.  Some of the video projects crash Media encoder during export when Mercury hardware is enabled.  Turning hardware acceleration off eliminates the Media Encoder freeze.

This is just a tip, in case you are getting a crash on export.  Try switching Mercury to software only.
