    TimebarControl.cpp-366 Error in Premiere CS4

    Alan Craven Community Member

I have started to get this listed as a Premiere De-bug Event when I close Premiere - not always, but more often than not. The location of the file is given as " ---\src\TimebarControl.cpp-366 ", but I can find no such file, or folder.

Editing is not affected, and this now occurs with all new Matrox projects - I have a Matrox RTX2 card installed.  The only recent events with my system are to add a Netgear NAS storage box, and install Acronis Disk Director 11.  The OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

I have tried the usual preferences and plug-in cache clearances which seem to work for the first time I use Premiere after this, but the problem then occurs again.

I have reverted to an image made before I first noticed the problem without success.  I have also tried opening a new project and importing the sequence I am working on from the problem project - at the moment I have three which are segments of what will eventually become a single timeline - again without success.

      A Google search yields nothing.

Has anyone any ideas as to what might be causing this, please?

          Hi,

hmmmm, no clue offhand...do you know how to check your computer error messages ?  for applications and system ?  Maybe there's a clue there...

If you don't know how to check look at this thread ...down a little in thread ...for directions...

            Thanks for this, Rod.

The Windows Event Viewer is a little different in Windows 7 - I always access it via Administative Tools.  Unfortunately there is nothing there which relates to Premiere.  For the moment, I can live with it. Editing is not impaired and I merely have to make a couple of extra mouse clicks to shut Premiere completely - 3 panels seem to remain live when I close Premiere.

I shall update to CS5 pretty soon, so it is not worthwhile re-installing.

            Thanks for your interest.

I have come to the conclusion that this is related to the way I have dragged various panels around the desktop to get a workspace that suits me.  I made some errors in the choice of drop zone for what I want, and Premiere seems to have taken badly to the way I corrected these mistakes.  When the error occurred the Project and Effects panels did not close, and their icon remained on the taskbar.

Cycling through activating the panels by clicking on the entries in the Window menu appears to have sorted this out, for the time being at least!
