i have a problem i want to make reverse countdown timer and the start time i get from xml the format will be like this:
like if i get time from xml like 01:05:00 ( 1 hour and 5 minutes )
at 55 minutes the format will be like this 00.55.00
it starts from there ends at 00.00.00 and triggers an event on this status..
i will be very thankful if anybody helps me..
What should it look like? Not understanding what you see as incorrect.
Why can't you just set the timer's delay to the value from your xml?
Let's say your xml reports 1:05:00. You would first need a way to convert this to milliseconds. I'll let you figure that coding out, but for example's sake, it's 3,900,000ms.
Assuming your app's data doesn't go to sleep without activity before the timer is up (in the case you use LCDS or similar push).
That will effectively count down even though it's really just counting. Add an event listener for when it finishes and you have a timer.
If you want a visual display of the timer counting down.. hmm... you may want to look at this
or google it. Lots of results for countdown timers.
edit: corrected ms, had 1 too many zero's.
