    Camera/VideoDisplay and CPU usage

      Hello,

I am showing the output of a webcam in a control on my window, similar to http://blog.flexexamples.com/2008/01/22/displaying-a-webcams-video-in-a-flex-videodisplay- control/

I am using an 800x600 resolution with 30FPS, and everything's great at first.. CPU usage is at about 5-10% which is acceptable. About 30 seconds in however, things start to change. The CPU usage goes up to 30% and frames start to get dropped. I've tried to profile it, but all I see is a lot of use in enterframeevent, verify, generate, and pre-render. Nothing I'm really doing myself that triggers it I think. Is there any way to get rid of this, frankly rather bizarre, performance hit? I have no idea where to look for this.. Hopefully someone here has run into this, and has a tip for me..

      Thanks in advance,
      PV
