      I am trying to display tool tip for a linear chart, for the purpose while in the chart definition I have placed the following tag.

      This seems to be working fine till the point I want to show some useful data. So in the function

      private function getChartLabel(value:String):String
      if (model.Data != null ) {
      return "abc";
      return " ";

      Here I have apparently no way to findout which no of item was was the mouse moved on the chart. So if you have a chart with 9 points. I want to display some value if the mouse is moved over item no 7 in the chart, but the question is how do I find out.

          The dataTipFunction must be in the form that the component will use. The Flex help file says it should be:

          dataTipFunction( hitData: HitData ): String

          where HitData describes the data point. There is an excellent example in the Flex help if you search using "Using the HitData object".
