Now I have been a long time Photoshop user, but I've read up a ton on Fireworks and am looking to incorporate it more with layouts but I am running into a little situation I can't seem to figure out. What I am trying to do is place a AI document onto the Fireworks document. In Photoshop when I import an AI file, it asks if it should import the entire document, or based on the bounding box. In Fireworks it seems to import the entire vector artwork. Can Fireworks import a vector file from Illustrator and read the artboard boundaries, or does the file have to be exported from Illustrator first? What is usually the recommended course of action?
All programs are CS5 in case that makes any difference.
When you import a file, the cursor changes to 'L' sign which will let you constrain the ai file to be imported.
You can also open(not import) the ai file which will open the file with same artboard size.
