Noel Carboni Jul 1, 2010 9:55 PM (in response to Buzz81)Can you post [small versions of] the images? Some images do not lend themselves well to being stitched, and a report from the software that the images cannot be aligned says you may be challenging the software beyond its abilities.
On the other hand, you could have a bona fide bug, but it would be easier to tell with the images to look at.

Chris Cox Jul 2, 2010 2:07 PM (in response to Buzz81)There is zero overlap between those 2 images -- there is nothing to merge, because they appear to be 2 photos with no relationship between them.

Noel Carboni Jul 2, 2010 6:11 PM (in response to Buzz81)Either you posted two images that aren't the ones you thought they were, or you have a misconception about what Photomerge is supposed to do, Buzz81.
Photomerge stitches images that form a panoramic view from one and only one position. Imagine standing in one spot, taking a photo, turning your body a little, taking another photo, turning a bit more, taking another photo...
Photomerge is for something like this:
Three images taken from the same spot, with parts that overlap:
The resulting stitched panorama:
