I will check out that handy recorder you suggested. That would probably be a more noise-free solution.
I like the picture of the microphone stand on that thread.
But I'm still wondering about the sound card VS. the camera.

Just like what you said, record your talk will not be that hard. In my experience, recording voice on the computer will be as simple as you imagine. Two things you need: a good quality microphone and recording application. Take me as an example, i ever used sound recorder to record yahoo voice chat that does not have any quality loss.

This was posted a year ago. I eventually bought an external sound card which I'm quite happy recording voice with.
