    Lady in distress - CS5 Playback/Preview Nightmare!

After lots of frustration with trial versions of CS4 and CS5, I gave in to the hole burning in my purse and bought the shiny new Student Edition of Premiere Pro CS5. I'd even installed all the 64-bit drivers. All great. Yippee. Except for one BIG FAT UGLY nightmare...it still bloody well REFUSES to playback the preview files properly.

I imported both a Quicktime movie and an AVI onto the timeline, and yet both won't playback in the preview window, only a still appears. However, for reasons that escape me, if I click on the preview window, the file does appear and the frames will advance if I drag the cursor along the timeline. But they still won't playback when I click the play button.

Boy it makes me mad all this. Is Adobe releasing crap software - with glitches all over it - or is it all MY fault? LOL....I feel like shooting someone. Or at least making them wear this bloody laptop. Please can anyone help me before I throw myself off the balcony? LOL. Thanks
