    Auto Update Failed Error 2727

    d4nier

Hello, I have a user (the CIO unfortunatly) that upon attempting to run the updater receives the following error:

Error 2727. The directory entry 'MOZILLA_2' does not exist in the Directory table.

I have searched for many of the terms in that message to no avail. Can anyone shed some light on this error?

      Thanks,

It would help if you'd specify the operating system where the error occurs.

            Sorry, My mistake.

The OS is Windows XP SP3 and the current version of reader is 9.3.2 I believe it is attempting to update to 9.3.3

I don't know what that error means - never seen it before.  I suggest that you manually download and install the update: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.3/misc/AdbeRdrUpd933_all_incr.msp

Make sure that no browser window is open when you run the update.

Having this exact same problem on 2 of our desktops at work.  Firefox/Mozilla is not installed, using Windows XP SP3.

Tried completely uninstalling (even went so far as to remove all Adobe registry keys under HKLM/Software and HKLM/Current_User, all Adobe folders under Application Data for the current user and All Users and Default User, cleared all temp files) and reinstalling, and the same error occurs after attempting to update:

Updater has nothing to do with this – it simply executes installers using Windows Installer Service.

Something is not right in the installer database and is not related to a presence of Firefox on the system.

You have to uninstall current Reader (if uninstall from ARP does not work, use MS cleanup tool)

Then you need to install Reader 9.3.0 from Adobe.com and let Updater install all the patches.

                  Good luck..
