binnysach Jul 9, 2010 4:20 AM (in response to txbonfire)The Operating System you installed on must be 64 bit:
Thus Adobe Apps which are 64 bit based gets installed at the 64bit location i.e C:/Program Files/Adobe:
32bit Adobe Apps gets into 32 bit location i.e C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe:
Photoshop is the one which is supports both 32 and 64 bit architecture, thus its gets installed at both the location.
Can launch Photoshop from any location.

4. Re: CS5 Production Premium - install question
JayNewWeb Aug 3, 2010 11:21 PM (in response to txbonfire)I just intalled Production Premium CS5 on a new Windows 7 machine and am perplexed about the two installations of Photoshop: 64-bit and 32-bit.
I have a 64-bit machine.
I prefer to keep things clean and neat.
Progam Options won't let me uninstall either version alone. It will let me uninstall both. Does that indicate I shouldn't install just the 64-bit version after uninstalling both (meaning they're supposed to work "together")?
I even read the little papers that came in the box that completely failed to mention this little issue.

5. Re: CS5 Production Premium - install question
JayNewWeb Aug 3, 2010 11:39 PM (in response to JayNewWeb)Seems both installations are necessary if you want the 64-bit version on there.
Thanks for not documenting this anywhere so we know what the heck is going on, folks.
And now I'll just "wonder" what the impact is of launching one vs the other, and why I'm supposed to have two instances of the same app on my machine.
