    Exporting video to youtube

    Jonchi

I am trying to upload a video shot in 16:9 and want to upload to youtube in 1280x720. my only options appear to be 1920x1080, 320x240, 480x360, and 1440x1080. Is there a way to do this?

If not.......The reason I want to do this is that it should (I think...) fix my next video so it doesn't do this...  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDdXviWZcnk

I am refering to that fancy black border around the entire thing =P.

      Any help is greatly appreciated!

Your solution is to use the steps in the FAQs to the right of this forum.

          http://forums.adobe.com/thread/623549?tstart=0

          Two words of warning though:

          1) The bigger your file, the more challenging it is going to be for someone to stream it over the internet. I'm not sure it's possible to load a 1280x720 file to any site and have it play smoothly on anyone's computer. But I guess it's worth a try.

          2) Remember that YouTube is going to take whatever you upload, re-encode it and make it a lower quality, easier-to-stream video. So there's little to be gained by trying to load a big, whopping file to YouTube. They'll only compress it harder, further compromising its quality.

But the solution above is the best possible solution. Let us know your results.

well with your instructions I ended up with this....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p03-3Daz0vM better quality I think buuuuuuuuuuut still not quite right....I tried both

DV-AVI standard and widescreen...the widescreen ended up worse so i deleted it. Did I do something wrong or is this just the best I can expect?

Sorry, Jonchi. I don't know why this is happening.

If you're using the right project settings for your camcorder and you're not trying to customize the output presets, it should not be letterboxed like this.

As for the other qualities, as I said, it's impossible to say from seeing a YouTube video, since YouTube does its share of damage to a video by its very nature.
