Mapids generally are used to display a complete help topic. Other than creating another topic displaying just the content you want to display and linking to that, I can't see how a mapid would do what you'd want. If you didn't use mapids but a URL you could potentially link to a bookmark within a topic. Would that meet your needs? The methods for calling webhelp are covered here.

Alright URLs should work as i need. The thing is i don't know how to link to a bookmark through an URL. I have limited HTML experience to know. Also, how can i link to a bookmark so that the page thats comes up is a pop up without the navigation panel? I have a NoNavWindow setup in my Project Set-up pod but how do i have one website call to the bookmark in the new window?
If my problem is a little confusing please ask to clarify
I don't completely understand MapIDs and the articles i have read havn't clarified exactly on my issue. If i create individual topics for each of the things i want to be displayed, via a small help button on site the webhelp is based on, but do not publish any of the topics to the webhelp can i still use a MapID to call on those topics regardless if they are on the webhelp? Like can i call them with a MapID to those individual topics?
How will you expect the application to find (and subsequently display) the topic if you don't publish it? Where would it come from?

I guess thats common sense. I guess a new project with just the small topics miight be my best solution. Thanks.
