    how do I pass a variable from html to my flex app

      I have a simple app, but I need to get a variable from my html file into the app, I've read about flashvars, but I don't know how to get the variable from within the flex app. Here's my html ...

      <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" id="myapp" width="100%" height="100%" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/swflash.cab">
           <param name="movie" value="chat.swf" />
           <param name="quality" value="high" />
           <param name=wmode value=transparent />
           <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
           <embed src="chat.swf" quality="high" wmode="transparent" width="100%" height="100%" name="meesh_chat" align="middle" play="true" loop="false" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>

      I just need to get a single variable into the app, like ...

      <param name="myvariable" value="18" />

      I'm more concerned about how to get the variable from within my flex app. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
