You are looking for the keyboards at the wrong place ! Keyboards shortcuts are stored in the preferences folder , here is the path for preferences in your Win xp machine:
Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4 setings\en_us.
under en_us folder you would find your customized keyboard short cut file with extension .kys
let me know if this helps.
I have windows 7, not xp. It seems there is no longer a place called Documents and settings. I googled it, and it told me that I should find it in users\[username\]AppData. But no such folder exists in this path or anywhere! I also ran a search for .kys and it only showed the defaults file.
When I create a new set of shortcuts, does Illustrator save a .kys file automatically, or did I have to do something myself?
On Win7 also you can Find your preferences here:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4 Settings
note: By default the appData folder is hidden on Win7 you will have change your show folder options to show hidden folders to show the AppData folder at the mentioned location.
Too late. lol. I had to discover that by myself. But thank you, anyway.
But still!...there isn't an Adobe folder inside the Roaming folder. Is there anything I can do?
Tried it again, and the Adobe folder magically appeared! Well, it worked.
