    Dreamweaver/ColdFusion Testing Server

    BIOTECCONNECT2
      Hello,

I am just getting started using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 with ColdFusion because I wish to build a dynamic web site that links to the MS Access 2000 database I have built. Before I install my dynamic web site on a web server I wish to build the web site on my Dell Dimension 8200 using Windows XP Service Pack 2 and 516 MB RAM so I can develop and test it on the same computer.

I created a folder on my hard drive C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MyLocalSite and in Dreamweaver Site Definition for MyLocalSite I provided the URL http://C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/MyLocalSite/ and clicked Next>. Then I selected that I did want to use a server technology and selected ColdFusion and clicked Next>. Then I selected Edit and test locally (my testing server is on this computer) and indicated C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\MyLocalSite\ as to where on my computer I wanted to store my files and clicked Next>. Then I http://localhost/mylocalsite/ as the URL I would use to browse to the root of my site and clicked Next>. At this point I received the following warning.

The Site URL prefix [/mylocalsite] for the testing server does not match the site URL prefix
[/Inetpub/wwwroot/MyLocalSite] specified in HTTP Address for the site. This may cause pages using site relative links to display incorrectly at run time. Proceed anyway? So I clicked the Cancel button the warning and clicked the Testing URL button on the Testing Files tab of the Site Definition after which I received the following message.

Dreamweaver cannot use the prefix you entered to display live data. Please double-check your site configuration or click on Help for more information on how to correct this problem. (HTTP Error: 1209)

I’ve done all this and I am at a loss for how to proceed from here. Any suggestions are most welcome!

      Dave

          Did you install ColdFusion Webserver?

          Local Site: C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/MyLocalSite/

          Testing Server: C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/MyLocalSite/
          URL Prefix: http://localhost/MyLocalSite

          Ignore the warning.
