Flash File shape-Size different, between Mac & Windows

    OnlyNK Level 1

      Hi,

I've made and published a site on mac. www.pieterb.tk.

On mac it looks fine. it's a little bit a strange size, but it does do the job. it still looks like the orignal.

When I'm opening the site on Windows, it's way to big!!

how do I fix this problem?

          Hi,

Happy to take a look for you.  Can you share some screeshots? files?

What browsers are you testing on and which Flash Player is installed on the Mac and Windows?

          Best,

          Tanya

            Hello, Tanya.

I can share you the files, but I don't have a pc here for a screenshot..

Here are the screenshot on mac, the project files, and this is the link of the published website: http://www.pieterb.tk.

I've also included the published website files.

I've tested, on mac, with Safari and Firefox.

On windows only with Internet Explorer.

On both systems is the newest version of flash player installed.

I've sent you a private message;)

            Thanks for your help!

              Hi,

On my PC (Firefox 3.66 with Flash Player 10.1.53.64) and Mac (Safari 5.0 with Flash Player 10.1.53.64) both files are loading and scaling to the dimensions you set in your file.  Your mac screenshot is the same as what I see on my mac.  Note that Flash Catalyst currently only supports applications with fixed dimensions, so doesn't automatically scale based on the user's screen size.  You can see this FAQ for more info.

              A couple of things:

              • You have set your file dimensions very large (width="1280" height="1024")  Users with smaller screens will likely have parts of your screen cutoff.  For example my laptop resolution is 1440 pixels by 900 pixels.  I would suggest scaling your design smaller.
              • Also, you should embed fonts with your output as the fonts are displaying differently between mac and pc.   Take a look at this help note for more info on how to do that.

              Best,
              Tanya
