1. Re: PSE vi won't download pictures from my Nikon D90
npearson5 Jul 17, 2010 4:52 AM (in response to npearson5)I have found this page : http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407344.html
But I can't find my version on there.
I am running a 64bit machine (Vista) and the 64bit download doesn't seem to apply to versions before Elements 7.
Does anybody know if it will work, or what else I can do?

There is a very clear section that says
Install Camera Raw 5.6 for Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows

Yes, read the instructions for PSE6 again, carefully. It tells you exactly how to install Adobe Camera Raw 5.6 with PSE6 in Windows.

Thank you very much for pointing that out to me.
Having said that I am a bit disappointed really because I was going to use it as an excuse to buy PSE8.

This is a joke right? PSE versions from 6 on don't really get better, they actually seem to be going downhill. Do you really want the aggravation of program activation? Besides, I think that the 64 bit issue more resides with device drivers than with PSE itself. Windows 64 bit versions install 32 bit programs into an "x86" program folder, so they're actually running under 32 bit Windows anyway.
