I have been "cleaning" my code and moved a form from the Main.mxml to an own component called [component]form.mxml.
in one of the events (on form completion and validation) in that form i am changing the STATE of the Main.mxml.
but now after moved the form + events to an own component it naturaly tells me that the state i am trying to change does not exsist.
is there any way to change the STATE of the Main.mxml from within the [component]form.mxml? do i need extra eventlistneners or is there another way to "switch views" that i dont know of?
unfortunately most of the STATE related posts were very old or not answered.
hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
thnx in advance
Instead of the component directly manipulating its parent, instead have it dispatch an event to let the parent know it's time to change states.
ok i took a quick course customs events, and indeed managed to solve it the way you proposed.
