Droverlord / Dr. Overlord P-Pro Crashing

I am experiencing a problem with Droverlord or Dr. Overlord error. After I have completed editing a sequence and begin rendering it in Encoder it sluggishly works for a while and then gives up.  At the same time P. Pro freezes "Not Responding" and finally quits.  When I try to "Close" P.Pro I can see in the icon in the bottom bar that the PPro icon has a second iteration open.  When I try to see what it is I see a ghost of the PPro time point indicator on my desk top and sometimes a faint transparent box around it, the thumbnail in Win7 says “DroverLord Overlay Window Error”.

Does anyone have an idea what this is all about and how to fix/eradicate the problem?  I’ve seen several posting but could not find a resolution.

          Ok

step 1 make sure you update your video card driver

step 2- I'm assuming your using Pr Pro CS4, if so- don't export to AME from Pr Pro timeline, instead close down premiere pro CS4 then open up AME and go to file->import Premiere Pro Project- find your project in the explorer box that opens on the left and click on the project once- wait about 10-45 seconds- depending on how big the project is and then in the box on the right you should see all your sequences from that project. Select the sequence you'd like to export and click ok to add to AME render Que- then you should be able to export this sequence

          This should help

Thanks Tony.  I didn't think about attacking this from that angle.  I tired what you suggested but when browsing to the sequence I was able to see every sequence in the project Except the ones I needed.  So, I'm guessing that some how the sequences are corrupt.  I'll try re-building them and then try the "Pull" into AME rather then the "Push."

Do you have any idea what DR Overlord is?  I don't have a clear picture of what it is so its hard to figure out how to get rid of it or avoid it.

              Dr. Overlord?

Unfortuantely no- I'm not sure what that is- other than a  kick a$$ screen name

I would run a virus scan as I'm not aware of this process (someone else please fill us in if you know what this process is referring to)

Anyway- when you look for your sequence in AME make sure you open all folders on the right hand side- as you may have the sequence you want buried in a folder (bin) in your project panel.

Let us know if you get this figured out

Overlord was an internal name during the beta cycle of CS4 and it stuck. CS5 has different names BTW.

Thanks everyone.  Tony, your solution seems to have worked and I have not seen another Overlord error since.  I have not tried to use the PPro export functionality since, instead I'm importing the files into AME.

                    Good

Glad this worked for you- about a few months ago I was experiencing similar problems when trying to batch encode directly from premiere to AME- and then, when I used this new workflow where I closed down Premiere and then opend AME seperately and imported my sequence(s) it worked and I have not gone back to the old way of exporting since. I wouldn't have known about this had it not been for this forum. So glad I was able to help you!
