Captivate converts each PPT slide into a SWF. So all objects which were there on the ppt slide are embedded into the corresponding swf file, so they are not available separately on the timeline. Presently there is no way to make them available separately on the timeline.
I am curious, Why do you want the PPT objects to be shown as separate entities in the timeline ?

I also expected the ppt objects changed to cp5 objects, and I would prefere if that would be done. Why? In that case I would have the chance to get rid of ppt and in addition I would have same interesting learning information on how CP5 works out what I formerly created in ppt.
If you can convert your PPT into Photoshop PSD then Cp will import each layer as an individual Cp object.
