Sorry, I wouldn't know what site that is. Try http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.3/enu/AdbeRdr933_en_US.exe
Thanks for the link
- it seemed to behave right up until the following message
Windows Installer "This patch package could not be opened. Verify thta the patch package exits and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows Installer patch package."
Uninstall the Reader you have currently installed, then reinstall 9.3.3 or 9.3.0.
If you cannot uninstall the current Reader via Add/Remove Programs, use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. This tool is no longer supplied by Microsoft, but you can obtain it from various 3rd-party download sites such as http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
Thanks for your help the majorgeeks.com webpage has had the registry cleaner removed. I gave up on trying to access free registry cleanup software and have installed Foxit and this is now my default PDF reader - works a treat! If you do know of any free registry cleaning software (one that allows you to fix the problems discovered without paying) I'd love to know of it.
The Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is still available on the MajorGeeks web site; just don't click Download @ Author's Site since Microsoft has removed the download.
The Windows Installer Cleanup Utility is not a registry cleaner, but a tool that removes corrupted installations. I personally do not recommend the use of "registry cleaners", as they often do more damage than good.
If you install "foxit reader", make sure that it doesn't install the "ask toolbar" spyware on your computer!
