I suppose you can get and post XML using the HTTPService tag, but I think the RemoteObject tag may be what you want, although that may also mean you use a POJO instead of a servlet. This page may have the information you neet.
I have an example that uses a JSP, HTTPService and either Flex 1.5 or 2.0 to load an xml file from the server, modify it and save it back.
Send me an email If you would like it.
plz can u give me this example
will u pls send me the sample code of how to invoke a servlet from flex application, so that i can deploye it and see, how we need to write code,
what i want is , i have a login.mxml page which has textfields username, password and 2 button login and cancel,
and in login1.jsp using taglib i am calling login.mxml .
and when i start tomcat server and call http://localhost:8080/sandeep/login1.jsp
i am abl;e to see login.mxml screen, which is same what i need ( UI ), and after this , when i enter username, password and click login button, it should go to a servlet, and display there username, password,
so will you pls me the sample code for this , ie how to configure web.xml , how to call servlet from which page ( login1.jsp or login.mxml) i have to invoke servlet.
Please mail me ,
my mail id is:
Go to CFLEX.net and search on "jsp"
I have a login example and a file retrieve/modify/save file example.
in general is quite easy :
<mx:HTTPService id="yourd" url="yourContextpath/yourServlet.do" method="POST" result="yourResultHandler(event)" />
so you should have mapping in web.xml for yourServlet.do
(assuming you have .do mapping for servlets if not whatever you have ...)
an thats it,
P.S yourServlet.do should return response as xml.
