    Changing link properties

    kshorb Level 1
I want to modify the properties of a link so that the link color (and rollover colors) don't conflict with the color of my page's background. I know how to change this using Modify Page Properties, however I want to change it for just a section of text (layer). I thought I could create a new style to be applied to the layer, but I couldn't find a "link" parameter in the style properties list.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Pseudo-classes and container styles are what you need - here are some
          tutorials.

Thanks so much for the pointers. Does it matter that what I want to link is the text in one row of a table? I've created the new style, and if I apply it to the overall table, it seems to take effect, but when I try to apply the style to only one row of the table, it seems to have no effect at all. Actually, even when I apply it to the whole table, as soon as I add an href, it reverts back to using the page properties for links. Here's the HTML code I'm using....

            <td valign="top" class="newdates"><a href="Restaurant_Nights_Out.html">Beef O'Brady's</a></td>

            Any suggestions?

            Thanks!

Show us how you have used this selector in your CSS, please. And it
wouldn't matter whether you applied to a table tag, or a <tr> tag, as long
as you specify the selector properly....

Don't you just hate it when you spend hours on a typo... I found my problem. I had not been consistent with my selector names, so it was picking up some new characteristics, but not others. Thanks for you help. Sorry for not catching this earlier.
