If an object in the swf file has Mouse.Event handler then it is not possible to use the same handler for flash player panning. Because the mouse handler of that object takes precedence and hence the panning is not happening in this case. If you are able to get this working in AS2, can you upload the sample file?
Thanks fior sharing the information.
It does not give me the option to attach files, how do I share it with you.
But they are simple steps -
1. Create new fla file with AS2.0
2. draw a rectangle and convert to movieclip
3. publish the file and zoom on it using Flash default context menu.
4. You'll be able to drag the rectangle.
Now follow same steps with new Flash file AS3.0 and yu'll not be able to drag the reactangle.
ohh ya, i could see the problem now. I thought you are referring to a draggable movieclips which in turn have a mousedown handler.
It looks like a bug in flash player...
Thanks for writing. But in both the cases, Flash player is same isn't it. It's the basic file that is different?
In case it is not the Flash player, do you think this is something with AS3? If yes, is there a reference to some document or any reasoning why does this happen?
