Have you restarted your computer recently? Is that the exact wording of the error message? What kind of operating system do you have?
Yes! i restarted my computer and it is exact wording of the error message.
I have windows 7.
And some new details:
1) If i import file from program menu:
AE->File->Import->"any file"->after effects warning: Error with file "any file"
2) If i drag file from any location to AE:
After Effects error: could not convert Unicode characters.
Do you have all of the standard Windows fonts installed? Have you installed additional fonts or font packs?
mmmm....i think, Yes!
How i can check it?
I installed addithional fonts and basic fonts.
in general 349 fonts...
Does this happen just in one project or in all projects new and old? Have you tried trashing your AE preferences? (Hold Ctrl-Alt-Shift while opening AE.)
This happens after how i installed cs5 and windows 7....in all new compositions don't import files, and old projects don't opens =(
Has it worked at all since you installed Win 7 and CS5? If not, I would suggest wiping clean and re-installing.
i did this 5 times)))
may be i did bad wiping clean...??? how it make correct ?
I find this bug.....The AE don't import files from old HDD, which i used on old computer 0_0
i didn't format him, and install him with all information to new computer....
.....if files copy to new HDD -> all OK
What Reasons? Any Ideas? Problems with codecs?
I am having some problem with importing the file in ae7 but as soon as i import the file the ae gets hanged and closes down i increased the cashe and the prevention of dll but the problem is still there OS is windows 7.
This happens when the file name is too long. Shorten the file name to maybe something within 1 or 2 words and then the try importing again.
