Chuck, thanks for this. Very interesting article and flies in the face of the results of the 980x vs dual-processor rig test results I've seen on this forum. Even though I don't have a DDR3 dual CPU workstation, I do have a DDR2 dual CPU workstation with 2 x 3.0 GHz processors and 20 gigs of ram. I'm thinking I may not get $5,000 worth (my estimated cost) out of a new 980x machine with DDR3 ram for a long time. I was planning on building a 980x rig, but I think I may try CS5 on my current setup once Matrox releases its CS5 drivers. I know a lot of you are tempted to post back and rag on Matrox, but until someone offers a better external monitoring output option for CS5, I'm kind of stuck.
