Anyone have a reason for my not being able to access GPU accellerated performance on my G5? I recently bought a used Mac Edition GTX 285, dropped it into my dual quad 3.2 early 2008 MacPro with 12 GB of ram. I open Premier CS5 (which I just installed) and when I go to "project settings/general/video rendering and playback/ the tab is grayed on "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" . I researched the hell out of this and read over and over that this card enables the GPU accellerated rendering...any suggestions?
FYI, I went to the NVidia website support area, and, even though my Mac said
I didn't need to install a driver to run the card, there is a specific CUDA application support driver that can be easily downloaded and installed...I did so, restarted, and lo and behold, GPU accelleration is enabled. Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for the info.!!
Was going to get this card, but Apple now discontinued it!!
Glad it's working out for you.
