Greetings. I've been struggling to try to figure out how to combine two separate projects into one project. Searching this forum I see advice to export project 1 to AVI and then import the AVI in the new project. That would work fine - I don't need to edit the AVI just add it - but I get a codec error when trying to import the AVI file I just created. I've got it set to DV NTSC Standard. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
As I detail in my books, if you use Share/Personal Computer/AVI to output your AVI, it will load right into a project set up for DV video, Gomn.
Can you post a screen capture of what output settings you're using?
Welcome to the forum.
I feel that you are very close. However, AVI is but a wrapper, and much can be inside that wrapper. This ARTICLE will give you some background.
Now, what you are looking for is a DV-AVI (a very specific form of AVI) w/ 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio. That will Import and edit just fine. Note that it will yield a large file (about 13GB per hour), but is "as good as it gets."
Exactly what is the 'codec error' message you get?
