    What am I missing?

    Berrybot
I'm a new user of Dreamweaver, stepping in to fix up some problems with my Garden's website. You can see that the side-column links for MEMBERSHIP and SUPPORT US go to the same page. I've found what I assume to be the changeable template for that info, and changed it on both remote and local views, but it has not asked me if I want to update all pages, so I know I'm missing something....but what??? I've checked out the whole site, and put the whole site, and still nothing!

Help? With many thanks in advance??

I am not experienced with templates, but it appears to me that the links you
are trying to change are not located in an Editable region of the template.

Can you open the template "bbg_2col.dwt" on your local machine and
change the links section to be editable,
          make your desired changes,
          then save it and
generate new child pages for upload to the server

By the way, there is no point to uploading the templates folder or file on
the server, other than for a backup.

Do you have the Templates folder in the root level of your local site?

            Does it contain bbg_2col.dwt?

When you make changes to this template page, and then save it, are you NOT
            prompted to update pages?

If you are then, you would only need to accept the prompt, and upload the
            changed pages.

If you are not, then you would need to recreate the site cache with SITE |
Advanced > Recreate Site Cache, and then open any child page, and use MODIFY
            | Template > Update Pages..., to force the update of all pages in the site.

I do have the file > "bbg_2col.dwt" and have changed it on the local server in both _Template folders (full and public). Still no prompt to update all pages. I did see that it wasn't editable and so went in and figured out how to make it editable; still no changes.

              *sigh*

I have figured out how to do a LOT of things, but not this important one!

Templates have no function on the server at all. They can only work while
you are running DW and can only affect local files, which must then be
                uploaded.

Hm. Well, the >bbg_2col.dwt< page is in a folder marked _Template, and it's the only one which seems to be the sidebars, so perhaps I'm just looking in the entirely wrong place and a different page entirely is actually my frame.

But no one here knows, so I am hunting blind. Thanks for the attempts!

In your local site? If so, that's completely wrong. Template files (*.dwt
files) must be in a folder called "Templates" that is at the root level of
                    the site.

Do you have a Templates folder in your local site?
