you can add a number to a movieclip but it won't be anything but a string.
what is it you're trying to do?
Okey cool, thanks for the quick reply.
I have these movieclips that's named projSq0,1,2,3 and I would like to associate them with project buttons.
so e.x: projBut0 goes to projSq0.
I created an function that gives me the correct id / number for the current button in a variable called currBut;
So I was thinking that by creating an function that adds the currBut number to the projSq and then making it possible to tween the movieclip:
var test = thumbHolder.projSq+"currBut";
yes, you can do that. the following would be an efficient way to code your buttons and have them tween their associated movieclip.
this["projBut"+i].ivar = i
this["projBut"+i].onRelease = releaseF;
var t:Tween = new Tween(thumbHolder["projSq"+this.ivar],...);
but if you want to do this your own way, you would use:
it's working! thank you very much for the help
