I have a large number of students using Adobe Premier Elements and currently their media cache folder is located in their My Documents Folder. The issue is that their My Documents folder is being redirected to a server share. Is there a way to redirect this folder to their profile (which is not being redirected) using a script or a registry entry?
Its just not feasible to cant get the students to change the preferences within Elements itself everytime they login and i cant keep deleting the media cache files manually.
The client PC's are windows XP.
Have you tried going to the Preferences (under the Edit menu), selecting the Media Cache page and then using Browse to set a new location?
My understanding is that the Preferences you mention is set on a per user basis. Am I incorrect? If I setup this preference as a local administrator will all users follow this path when they login?
The students log onto different machines each day and its not feasible to have year 8 and year 9 students set up their location each time they login.
You might be able to do it with a symbolic link.
