Automatic numbers of TOC and references are exchanged

Mac OS X 10.6.4 DE

InDesign CS5, 7.0.1 (DE)

Have a document formated with paragraph styles like title1, title2, text, etc.

Let this document start with a 2 digit number like 10 or 69, should have enough pages and titles 1 to fill later the toc frame

1. Create a table of content style, every occurance of title1 will create an entry, create a title with a style which will span all columns

2. Make a frame on the first page (or where you want to place the table of content.

3. This text frame has a corner effect on only 1 corner, the lower right corner is rounded with 14pt radius

4. Place in this frame the automatic generated TOC (or any automatic generated reference)

RESULT

In the first column the page numbers are switched:

Instead of page 70 I have page 07

71 > 17

72 > 27

and so on

WHAT CAN HELP?

Turn off any corner effects to this frame.

Kind of sounds like to me that you have you Page numbering of the document wrong.
Under your <b>pages</b> pallet click on the flyout menu thingy.
go down to <b>Section numbering</b> double check that's all correct

Nope, the page numbering ist correct. Read what I have written: Let the document start with a 2 digit number! THese are basics and I know a "little bit more" than basics in ID.
THe TOC shows the correct number but the digits are swipped around 72 becomes 27 in the TOC. Try it.
The first thing why I put it here is to alert other users, that here is problem and they have to take care on it.
And that the page numbering is ok shows also that if I turn off corner effects all things go ok.

Right, Um, okay then...I guess you told me...

Maybe if you start all your posts with a little quip about how good you are and how much experience you have, it will help other people failing into the trap of trying to help out....

What I want is:
1. Bring the bug to attention, so that no one falls into the trap and does not deliver files with wrong number.
2. Bring it to attention to the English readers because they are more than German ones and in this group we will find also the product engineers.
I have filed a bug against it as I do always. I am sure that this behaviour is a bug, not a bug between chair and keyboard.
In a German graphics forum Windows users have confirmed this bug on their side too.
What I don't know, if the bug also applies to CS5 7.0 because in German all users have 7.0.1 which is only available in German and Swedish.

Do you have an ME version of ID, or has anyone with an ME version worked on this file? It looks as if the page numbers have been given a right-to-left orientation.

No, it happens with the normal 7.0.1 on Mac and 7.0 on Windows. This bug has been verified from different Experts (as I am too) on InDesign.
The funny thing is, that this happens only when one round corner on the bottom of the text frame is applied.None of the users which can confirm this bug has ever worked on a ME version. I am deep in InDesign as an ACI and ACE and member of several internal Adobe related programmes, several were directly connected to InDesign or the CS, so it is not a handling error.

So, I have tested now against the US Version 7.0 Mac. Same Problem.

Yes, I did. But only via Adobe's public bug form.

Unfortunaely not here on the forum, though you can post a link to a sample file on an external server.

Some of the ID development team keep an eye on what goes on here, and it wouldn't, of course, hurt to send an email to anyone you think would be appropriate at Adobe.
