1. Re: AVCHD clip edge not aligned at the frame boundary
Bill Hunt Aug 3, 2010 8:53 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Howard,
I am having a difficult time comprehending your exact workflow. Maybe it is that I do not know the intermediate programs that you are using.
Can you tell us about your original source footage, and your Project/Sequence Preset, and then exactly how your TSSniper fits into the workflow?
Thanks and good luck,
Hunt

2. Re: AVCHD clip edge not aligned at the frame boundary
Howard Hoffman Aug 3, 2010 9:05 PM (in response to Bill Hunt)AVCHD 1080 60i clips from camcorder
Download to computer, use TSSniper to quick cut to remove unwanted footage w/o re-encoding (reduce the project size).
Import into Premiere. Select all footage, drag them to a sequence.
For some clips, incl. both direct out of camcorder and those cut by TSSniper, their edges no longer line up with the hash marks in Permiere -- I am assuming at maximal zoom, the hash mark is frame. This means the clips have partial frame or there is something wrong with the way Premiere handles them.
In some cases, the 2 edges of the clips will be right next to each other, though aligned with hash mark.
In other cases, there is space (smaller than 1 frame) b/w the edges of the 2 clips. The space is NOT removable (right click, no delete). You can drag the clip to align with the hash mark, or shorten it by the partial frame length and then remove the space.

3. Re: AVCHD clip edge not aligned at the frame boundary
Howard Hoffman Aug 3, 2010 9:20 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)TSSniper can read MTS but it writes .TS. Canon produces MTS. When I save the cut result, I change the suffix from TS to MTS. Could this be the problem? However, I used the exact same software combination under XP before it's all fine. I only see this problem now after I upgraded to Win 7. In fact, the exact same project contains sequence made in XP and Win 7. XP ones are just fine.
Thanks!

4. Re: AVCHD clip edge not aligned at the frame boundary
Bill Hunt Aug 3, 2010 9:21 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)OK, what is the Project/Sequence preset? That should match 100% to your source footage.
Thanks and good luck,
Hunt
