si conehead Aug 3, 2010 10:37 PM (in response to JayNewWeb)I had the same situation. I installed everything.
All it uses up is disk space.

JayNewWeb Aug 3, 2010 10:41 PM (in response to si conehead)This is just stupid. I left it at "all" and now I have two installations of Photoshop.
Well, next quesiton... directed to whatever dummy at Adobe decided this was the way to handle installation guidelines (or lack thereof)...
Can I safely "uninstall" the non-64-bit version of Photoshop now, or will that risk deleting some support files that the 64-bit version of Photoshop will require?

JayNewWeb Aug 3, 2010 11:24 PM (in response to JayNewWeb)Turns out you can't uninstall just one version. You have to uninstall both together.
I have no idea if that implies that they're supposed to work together or if it's fine to uninstall both and then reinstall just the 64-bit version (if it even allows that).
No problem. Just a few hours of my time wasted and costing me money because nobody bothered to mention anything about this in any documentation anywhere in the box or in the on-screen instructions.

4. Re: Confusing list of items installing Production Premium CS5
JayNewWeb Aug 3, 2010 11:36 PM (in response to JayNewWeb)Well, it seems they both need to be installed. After uninstalling both, I found it won't let me install the 64-bit version without also installing the 32-bit version.
Now, to "wonder" what the impact is of opening one version versus the other. Why do I have to have two installations of the same program?
And why in the world would they not have a stitch of documenation anywhere to explain any of this?
Really disappointing. This is, after all, Adobe, not Joe's Bait & Tackle.
