- In Flash Catalyst, setup a Go to Url interaction where you want to open an email. Likely on a button. Put in a placeholder address http://emailhere.
- Import your .fxp file into Flash Builder and open the src>main.mxml file
- Look for this line of code - navigateToURL( new URLRequest( encodeURI("http://emailhere")), "_blank");
- And change it to this - navigateToURL( new URLRequest( encodeURI("mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org")), "_blank");
Hope this helps. Tanya

Note: The Adobe Forums editor is automatically putting an 'email' icon in the above message, you don't need that in your code.
Thats perfect thank you!
Typing "emailto:myemailaddress" in the url placeholder does it for me.
Is there no other way to insert a link for email? Seems like a lot of steps for what can simply be edited in apps Dreamweaver. And I tried someone's suggestion to just type in "emailto:<myemailaddress>" but FC by default adds the https:// which doesn't result in the desired outcome.
If I want to use this to open a pdf, what will I have to include in FB?
My project runs from a DVD, I tried "/Assets/.test.pdf" and then on the root of disc I made a folder ASSETS and the test.pdf in that folder but its not working. Any help please?
