Continue to get error 1402, "could not open key." I uninstalled all versions of Adobe, restarted, and error continued. I'm running Windows XP.
Running the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility to remove all the bits of Reader normally fixes this.
Be aware, MS has removed that utility from their download area so you'll have to get it elsewhere.
