1. Re: odd curve targeting in cs5
MTSTUNER Aug 15, 2010 6:09 PM (in response to Howard Rudnick)When you say you turned the target box off, did you click
on the box in the curves panel?
New to cs5 is a preference for automatically selecting target adjustment tool.
You could try unchecking that (hightlight below in blue)
I don't think the legacy shotcuts affect the adjustments panel, other than the
shortcuts to select the channels.

2. Re: odd curve targeting in cs5
MTSTUNER Aug 15, 2010 6:30 PM (in response to Howard Rudnick)Sometimes you might also have to select the eyedropper (I)
tool manually to set the points without the targeted adjustment tool.

MTSTUNER Aug 15, 2010 6:45 PM (in response to Howard Rudnick)Are you using the curves from Image>Adjustments (the old dialog)?
Not a curves adjustment layer?

4. Re: odd curve targeting in cs5
Howard Rudnick Aug 16, 2010 7:35 AM (in response to MTSTUNER)Turning on the auto select target tool, is the same as clicking on the hand with arrows. Just get eyedropper at that point, no option to cmd click. Any touch down at that point becomes a point, cmd or not.I think the eyedroppers in curves affect white, black, neutral points. Will have to try the mtstuner suggestion. Been going to the adj panel, but I have an action to get curves.Seems like it should work in either situation, but will see. 5 on computer at work, will try in a bit, thanks

Howard Rudnick Aug 16, 2010 10:05 AM (in response to Howard Rudnick)Yeah, last suggestion works. Seems like it should work no matter how you get to the curves. anyway.

Howard Rudnick Aug 16, 2010 11:22 AM (in response to Howard Rudnick)Actually it doesn't work. Any click gives me a point.

7. Re: odd curve targeting in cs5
Howard Rudnick Aug 16, 2010 6:51 PM (in response to Howard Rudnick)Finally got it to work. Had to turn off auto select targeted adj option, and as was suggested, use the eyedropper from the toolbar. Then I can use cmd click to set points. Quite a workaround from simplicity of cs3!
