1. Re: Frame 9 UI - This is an improvement?
MichaelKazlow Aug 15, 2010 6:52 PM (in response to Bill at HNS)The Frame 9 UI takes getting used to. But I agree that I am still more productive with the older interface. No surprise, I've been using the old interface since Frame 3.2.

Michael Müller-Hillebrand Aug 16, 2010 2:50 AM (in response to Bill at HNS)Bill,
There is a difference between "being intuitive" and "being used to it". There is a limit how intuitive a powerful application can be in presenting all the possible features. Even if being used to an interface, many people welcome the new modeless dialogs (which stay open and reflect the current situation) and I have not heard any complaints from first-time FM9 users (and there are some, yes). But I heard complaints from folks starting to use FrameMaker pre-9, of course they compared the application to Word...
Anyway, even for the pro it is a good idea to check out the webinars, please start here:

I watched the webinar you recommended. It changed my thinking. It looks like you can save the UI to be pretty much whatever you want it to be. You almost "have to" like that. I didn't understand how to do certain things; now that I do, I think Frame will work better for me.

Bill at HNS Jun 21, 2011 8:09 AM (in response to Bill at HNS)In the last few weeks I have used Frame more intensively than ever. (This, even though I am a longtime user.) I can see that the Frame GUI introduced in version 9 has real benefits.
