that doesn't even look close to something that would work.
to start, you're not using l,r,t,b in your prototype function so movement won't be limited. and it's not clear what myMC._parent has to do with what you're trying to accomplish. and the biggest problem is that's got to cause some screwy movement because when the mouse moves, myMC's _x property is updated but then the mouse position relative to myMC changes and myMC's _x property needs to be updated again etc.
right... im struggling with this admittedly.
well, when i get rid of the l,r,t,b and the numbers in the onPress function, it does work, except myMC can be dragged forever left or right... all i want to do is put a start and end limit on this.
Have you played around with the numbers for l,t,r,b? That screws me up a lot.
i did... got it to work perfectly with the basic MovieClip.startDrag method...
i just can't figure out how to do it with this spiffied up method...
thanks for the suggestion
i don't know what you're trying to do with lockcenter, but this doesn't do anything with it but probably does what you want otherwise:
thank you very much, kglad. i was able to combine your code with the existing code to acheive the goal...
perhaps it is not "properly" done the way I ended up doing it, but it works...
