Hi - I have a logo (text) that has a drop shadow that I want to put on a website. However I want the background to be transparent so the drop shadow falls on the canvas of the webpage. When I export a gif there is always a background color associated with the text that is not the same color as the webpage canvas. Apart from trying to make this background the same color of the webpage - (which is impractical because the colors are different on different pages) is there a way to do this. I can do it with PNG but the file is large.
You'll need to select:
If you don't have a solid edge on your drop shadow, you will end up with that "halo effect" around the shadow. The only thing you can do is choose a matte color closest to your background that might blend with all the colors of your background pages.
Or you can make the drop shadow a solid drop shadow and not worry about the halo effect.
You need to export the PNG file rather than save it. Choose PNG 8 or PNG 32 with Alpha transparency.
