// and/or use setNewTextFormat() if the text property may change.
Thank you Kglad.
Also why isn't the "Arial" font not applying here?
this.createTextField("scroll_txt", this.getNextHighestDepth(), 0, 0, 0, 0);
this.createTextField("abc", this.getNextHighestDepth(), 143, 170, 648, 233);
abc.multiline = true;
abc.wordWrap = true;
abc.textColor = 0xFFFFFF;
abc.embedFonts = true;
var theformat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
theformat.font = "Arial";
"Arial" needs to be the linkage id of a font in your library. is it?
yes it is.
then you just need to correct:
and you should be good.
Now I'm getting the error "A script in this movie is causing Flash Player..". I realized that the abc.embedFonts = true; is causing some problem. Always when I block that line the swf works (without the Arial font though). Any ideas to overcome this issue? (Is some action looping forever? is that the reason for his message to appear?)
none of the things discussed in this thread would cause that error. to confirm, copy and paste the code discussed here, your font and your textfield to a new fla and test. any errors/problems?
