I looked this up and found some threads but they didn't really help. I have tried this in both Captive 5 and Captivate 4 and it does the same thing. The slidelet stays on the screen only as long as I have the cursor inside the hot spot even though I have set the Stick Slidelet checkbox. I have checked the timeing of both the slidelet and the content of the image and text being displayed by the slidelet.
One of the forum suggestions was to make sure that AS2 was configured. I can't seem to locate anywhere in Captivate 5 where you can select AS2 or AS3.
Hopefully someone can set me straight on both questions.
Frank

Hi Frank
Okay, putting on my simple simon hat here.
Apologies in advance if you were already aware of this.
The way you phrased your post seems to infer that you think the option for Sticking the slidelet will ensure it remains visible after the mouse pointer moves away from the rollover area. And in fact, that's precisely what the option is intended to do.
But here's where I'm wondering if confusion is entering the picture.
I could see where someone may think that by configuring this option the slidelet behavior would be influenced on a simple rollover. The thing is, it requires your viewer to actually click when the mouse is positioned over the area that triggers the slidelet to appear.
Indeed the Rollover Slidelet does appear to behave differently depending on the AS version selected. Not sure why. I guess if I knew the exact technical reasons I might be an ActionScript developer instead of just a Captivate user.
Again, apologies if you were already aware of that.
Cheers... Rick

Thanks for the advice. No, I did not realize that the user needed to click. That makes a big difference!

The people who create these guide books should do a better job of explaining this! A lot of development time WASTED!

Hi Rick,
Here is the link I am referring to:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Captivate/4.0/Using/WSEF20A87E-0F20-4fa6-A95E-B48C1EBCFCCC.html
Its okay, but it would have been helpful to know that when using a "stick"
sidelet, that the user should "click" on the sidelet for it to stay. That's
all.

Ahhh, you are referring to the help file associated with the product and maintained by Adobe.
When you said "People who created these guide books", I assumed you purchased a third party guide such as I sell and was hoping it wasn't one of mine and I had left something out.
Cheers... Rick
