    Changed Template folder name

    khartist
      I change the name of the Template folder to dwt. and realized afterwards that this was not a good idea because DW doesnt' recognize this name. So, I change the name back to template, but the files associated with the templates did not change with it. Now when I update, there are error messages. This code below is in my main index page to my site and is greyed out. You can see the folder name remains dwt. How do I change all my template files back the template name? karen

      indes.htm page:

      <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
      <html><!-- InstanceBegin template="/dwt/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
      <head>

          Did you back up all the site before doing these changes - ?

          If not I suggest you back them all up - just to another folder on the
          PC for now.

          It should look like this, note the capital T in Template:

          <!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/main.dwt.php"
          codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->

          How many files in the site ?

          If not many you could use
          Modify | Templates | Apply template to page;

          I don't think a global search and replace would work in the locked
          areas -

            All templates must be in a folder named "Templates" at the root level of the
            site. Please change to that name.

              I did not backup my files :(

              I changed the template to a capital T and it updated all the files in my site except for the index.dwt files. I can't see this line in the index.dwt pages, yet they're greyed out in the associated htm files? I've made quite a mess of my site. please help. k

                It's not in the .dwt template files, it is in the child pages of the
                template.

                with the files closes, select them in the Files Panel.
                open find and replace.
                find: in source code:

                  If it's in the child pages, then why is it greyed out, so that I can'd edit it? I tried the find and search but with no luch, it didnt' find that coding. It won't let me do a find and replace with the files closed, I had to open them. karen

                    Because it's not in an editable region. It's normal that it would be
                    non-editable in child pages.

                    > I tried the find and search but with no luch, it didnt' find that coding.

                    Then you made a mistake. It WILL find that coding, and it WILL replace it.

                      Find and replace found all the files in my child files with dwt string, but it wouldn't replace the string as it is locked (grayed out). Do I need to open up the template file and make the uneditable area editable, then do a find and replace? k

                        You must have ALL pages closed when you do the find and replace. DW will
                        not replace locked content if the page is open.
