    Pasted Illustrated...

      Hi

I'm sorry, I'm sure someone will have asked this... it's been a really ong three weeks though and my search skills have somewhat deserted me.

(All CS5) I've a little diagram in Illustrator within a clipping path. When I paste it into InDesign it shows the "little diagram" with it's bounding box way out in outer space due to the bigger footprint of all the stuff clipped by the path. Now, by accident I seemed to cause InDesign to jettison all the extra stuff outside the clipping path. This suited me just fine because being able to grab the visible corner of the illustration to scale it is far more intuitive than some corner marker way off the InDesign page. Thing is, dang it... I've no idea what the happy accident was... and I can't seem to repeat it or find where the instruction is... this has to be a real easy question for someone...

Now, I might be wrong... but... because I want to be able to select one of the elements within the illustration inside the clippling path and give it a transparancy setting, I'm not sure putting it in as a PDF will allow that. I've not tested whether I understand right cos deadline, up against, all that.

Hoping you'll save me hours of searching around for this...

      Thanks, hope all's well.
